Zambia Mural

I had the incredible opportunity to volunteer with IVHQ for three weeks at the Will Christian Academy in Zambia, Livingstone. I got to teach PreK kids to 5th graders lessons in Art, English, and basic Math and Science. During my visit, I also had the chance to create a whole school mural on one of the school walls. I sketched out some ideas and was able to find paint supplies and a paint store downtown and it all started to come together. The teachers and students all took turns helping to paint the design. We chose a mighty elephant and the country’s motto “One Zambia, One Nation” to depict on the mural. We danced to Yo Maps music and shared stories and laughter while we painted. I will never forget the kindness and beautiful friendships I made in Zambia <3
